Kaylee's First Day of Preschool

Wow can you believe it?  I can't!  Our little bug started preschool yesterday.  She went last year and we called it preschool but it was more like a pre-preschool, this year she is in the big class and actually does school for a few hours twice a week.  She has the same teacher Madelynn did and we are so blessed and lucky to have such a wonderful program.  Mrs. Chambers is amazing.  There are not many parents that are lucky enough to get a personal phone call right after school is over on the first day to let me know Kaylee did amazing and had a great first day!  She must have been feeling the vibes of me looking at the clock wondering when they were going to be done so I could check up on how it went.  It is amazing how much she has grown up over the summer and how ready she is for school this year.  Her first paper she brought home yesterday was colored perfect in the lines and so neat...6 months ago we were still scribbling and carefree.  Kaylee is going to do great in school - I know we will have our days just because she is Kaylee and full of personality and "might" have a tendancy to get off track sometimes - but that is why we love her she keeps us on our toes!

Now on that note I have to say our mornings at the Muniz House are a bit different than they were about 3 months ago.  We were probably what you would call the lazy family - we all liked to sleep in the mornings and getting up early was not something we did well.  But boy have we adjusted.  Especially now that we have 3 going in different directions with different agendas.  We all get up early, everyone eats breakfast, and then we all have to be ready at the same time for the most part so that I can get both girls' hair done for school and dressing in matching clothes.  Madelynn has to be at school at 7:50 and it is about 15 minutes from the house and then Kaylee has to be at school before 8:30 which is only 2 minutes away and of course Jacob goes with Kaylee but with a different agenda on his plate he only has to worry about who he is going to steal toys from that day.  We are getting pretty good at our schedule the only one I am still working on is the big baby Matt, he just seems to think he can sleep a little bit longer as long as I am up getting everything done - who would think a little help might be nice?

So anyways the life of being school kid parents - loving it so far!  We go to bed earlier we are much more structured and our days start earlier.  One down side is my babies are all growing up!!!
