As Basketball comes to an end
In the midst of everything that is going on Matt continued to put in many hours up at the gym during basketball season. This year has had its ups and downs as they got a new coach and obviously with that come the growing pains and then Matt was raising 3 kids without his wife at home so it has definitely had its ups and downs. It was an exciting year for the team though overall they played extremely well and were a lot of fun to watch. They had a lot of very close games and some they pulled out and some they didn't but what was good about this year was that every game the team gave 110% and played their hearts out. Last weekend was senior night and it ended up being a bit emotional. It would be the last game that our family would be at the college of idaho watching Matt sit on the bench and coach. We have had so many amazing memories watching Matt coach and supporting him all the way and it has been such a big part of our family it was hard to say good bye to. I noticed Matt got a little choked up as they were announcing the seniors, he probably won't admit it but I think it hit him as well that we are starting to have our lasts of things in Idaho. He grew close to these boys they spent a lot of time together!!!!
This is one thing I wish I didn't have to say good bye to but hopefully we will be able to be a part of a team again as we get settled into our new home town.
We are proud of you Matt and all your hard work you put into your coaching years...you always gave it everything you had - those kids were lucky to have you and everything you offered them. You will be missed at the College of Idaho and many people from the college have already made it known they will miss you!
