Matt with his characters
Trick or Treat - girls loved this one it was Minnie MouseWe had a very relaxing Halloween, but fun at the same time. We had our annual trick or treat at Kelly's (the gal that watches the kids) which is always fun and the girls loved seeing what their friends were dressed up as. We then made our stop by Tony and Melenie's house and then back home. Matt took the girls to a few houses next door while I finished up dinner and preparing the house and the girls were done with the whole trick or treating they just wanted to hand out candy (which were completely thrilled with beings it was a bit cold out)! We had the family out to the house for a nice dinner and just some catch up time as we hadn't seen each other in awhile. The girls had a blast handing out candy till the idi*t who looked older than Matt showed up at our door with a horrible mask on and scared the daylights out of Madelynn...poor girl it ruined her whole night she wouldn't even get close to the door after that. She stood in her bedroom yelling at us to tell her what the kids were dressed up as. Our old neighbors showed up not too long after that so Madelynn came out to say hi to Aiden her best friend - she even attempted to go out trick or treating with them but didn't make it to the end of the drive way before she realized she was scared of this whole Halloween thing and came back crying. Kaylee made it for awhile with them nothing seems to bother her...Matt said she was running from house to house and was having a great time - I think he got tired first so he made her come home :) Overall we had a great Halloween 2009!
Just a little side note and tribute -
Halloween will always be a very memorable and tough holiday for our family. My grandpa past away 3 years ago on Halloween. He was an amazing person with an amazing heart who loved his family dearly! No matter where we are or what we are doing when we are together as a family even 3 years later you still feel like something is missing! I know he is looking down on us and just having a great time watching his family grow and continue on with some great family traditions! And I know I can say 1 thing for sure is he sure would be proud of each and every one of us! Grandpa we love you and miss you!
